IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (76) Freia / UCAC4 525-049127 event on 2021 Feb 09, 06:12 UT Visible from South America, Central America Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 09 UT, the 166.8 km diameter asteroid (76) Freia will occult a 11.6 mag star in the constellation Cancer for observers along a path across South America, Central America. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.04 mag to 12.14 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 14.9 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
