IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (1337) Gerarda / TYC 0257-00343-1 event on 2021 Feb 08, 06:15 UT Visible from USA, W Canada Summary ------- On 2021 Feb 08 UT, the 40.4 km diameter asteroid (1337) Gerarda will occult a 11.3 mag star in the constellation Sextans for observers along a path across USA, W Canada. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.64 mag to 15.94 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
