IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (21) Lutetia / 2UCAC 40163359 event on 2012 Nov 30, 03:35 UT Visible from N Africa, Europe, USA, N Mexico Summary ------- On 2012 Nov 30 UT, the 108 km diameter asteroid (21) Lutetia will occult a 12.9 mag star in the constellation Gemini for observers along a path across N Africa, Europe, USA, N Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.2 mag to 11.2 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 11.4 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, TMO astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
