IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (300) Geraldina / TYC 1910-01242-1 event on 2012 Nov 28, 00:38 UT Visible from Arabia, N Africa Summary ------- On 2012 Nov 28 UT, the 79 km diameter asteroid (300) Geraldina will occult a 9.3 mag star in the constellation Gemini for observers along a path across Arabia, N Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.6 mag to 14.9 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 13.2 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
