IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (2761) Eddington / 2UCAC 41172745 event on 2012 Nov 19, 05:32 UT Visible from Japan, Russia, N Europe Summary ------- On 2012 Nov 19 UT, the 19 km diameter asteroid (2761) Eddington will occult a 12.5 mag star in the constellation Gemini for observers along a path across Japan, Russia, N Europe. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 3.8 mag to 16.3 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 4.1 seconds. This update is based on historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
