IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (6662) 1993 BP13 / TYC 1738-01661-1 event on 2012 Nov 03, 20:56 UT Visible from Africa Summary ------- On 2012 Nov 03 UT, the 11 km diameter asteroid (6662) 1993 BP13 will occult a 10.5 mag star in the constellation Andromeda for observers along a path across Africa. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.6 mag to 16.1 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 1.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
