IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (3614) Tumilty / TYC 2415-01605-1 event on 2012 Oct 06, 09:59 UT Visible from Colombia, Ecuador Summary ------- On 2012 Oct 06 UT, the 59 km diameter asteroid (3614) Tumilty will occult a 10.1 mag star in the constellation Auriga for observers along a path across Colombia, Ecuador. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 6.2 mag to 16.3 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 16.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
