IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (1208) Troilus / TYC 5283-00522-1 event on 2012 Sep 15, 10:26 UT Visible from New Zealand Summary ------- On 2012 Sep 15 UT, the 111 km diameter asteroid (1208) Troilus will occult a 11.8 mag star in the constellation Cetus for observers along a path across New Zealand. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.2 mag to 15.9 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 8.3 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
