IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (90) Antiope / 2UCAC 39264621 event on 2012 Sep 13, 10:53 UT Visible from S USA, Mexico Summary ------- On 2012 Sep 13 UT, the 124 km diameter asteroid (90) Antiope will occult a 12.4 mag star in the constellation Taurus for observers along a path across S USA, Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.8 mag to 14.0 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 13.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
