IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (22050) 1999 YV13 / HIP 93423 event on 2012 Aug 31, 05:04 UT Visible from Canada, USA, Mexico Summary ------- On 2012 Aug 31 UT, the 17 km diameter asteroid (22050) 1999 YV13 will occult a 6.2 mag star in the constellation Sagittarius for observers along a path across Canada, USA, Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 11.4 mag to 17.6 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 6.4 seconds. This update is based on historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: .
