IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (824) Anastasia / HIP 81377 event on 2010 Apr 06, 10:21 UT Visible from W Canada, W USA Summary ------- On 2010 Apr 06 UT, the 34 km diameter asteroid (824) Anastasia will occult a 2.5 mag star in the constellation Ophiuchus for observers along a path across W Canada, W USA. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 12.2 mag to 14.7 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 8.6 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: .
