IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (712) Boliviana / TYC 1218-01446-1 event on 2009 Nov 09, 05:37 UT Visible from Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina Summary ------- On 2009 Nov 09 UT, the 128 km diameter asteroid (712) Boliviana will occult a 10.0 mag star in the constellation Aries for observers along a path across Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 1.1 mag to 10.6 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 13.5 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, TMO astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
