IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (361) Bononia / TYC 1789-00112-1 event on 2008 Dec 06, 02:24 UT Visible from Europe, UK, Canada Summary ------- On 2008 Dec 06 UT, the 142 km diameter asteroid (361) Bononia will occult a 10.4 mag star in the constellation Aries for observers along a path across Europe, UK, Canada. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.8 mag to 13.1 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 14.6 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, TMO astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
