IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (30433) 2000 LJ21 / HIP 23589 event on 2008 Mar 27, 22:54 UT Visible from NE Brazil Summary ------- On 2008 Mar 27 UT, the 11 km diameter asteroid (30433) 2000 LJ21 will occult a 6.2 mag star in the constellation Taurus for observers along a path across NE Brazil. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 12.0 mag to 18.2 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 0.4 seconds. This update is based on historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: .
