IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (5567) Durisen / TYC 1437-00296-1 event on 2008 Jan 10, 03:07 UT Visible from NE Brazil Summary ------- On 2008 Jan 10 UT, the 32 km diameter asteroid (5567) Durisen will occult a 9.7 mag star in the constellation Leo for observers along a path across NE Brazil. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 7.0 mag to 16.7 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 6.9 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
