IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (693) Zerbinetta / UCAC2 31171871 event on 2008 Jan 01, 10:37 UT Visible from Bahamas, USA, SW Canada Summary ------- On 2008 Jan 01 UT, the 68 km diameter asteroid (693) Zerbinetta will occult a 11.4 mag star in the constellation Virgo for observers along a path across Bahamas, USA, SW Canada. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 3.5 mag to 14.9 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 4.7 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
