IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (704) Interamnia / TYC 2410-00061-1 event on 2007 Sep 09, 09:44 UT Visible from Canada, USA, Mexico Summary ------- On 2007 Sep 09 UT, the 317 km diameter asteroid (704) Interamnia will occult a 11.5 mag star in the constellation Auriga for observers along a path across Canada, USA, Mexico. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.8 mag to 11.6 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 14.4 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
