IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (27) Euterpe / TYC 6362-00617-1 event on 2007 Jul 29, 06:12 UT Visible from Canada, USA Summary ------- On 2007 Jul 29 UT, the 124 km diameter asteroid (27) Euterpe will occult a 11.0 mag star in the constellation Capricornus for observers along a path across Canada, USA. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 0.6 mag to 10.6 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 11.4 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
