IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (313) Chaldaea / TYC 5024-00428-1 event on 2007 Apr 18, 22:19 UT Visible from India, Russia, Scandanavia Summary ------- On 2007 Apr 18 UT, the 96 km diameter asteroid (313) Chaldaea will occult a 10.0 mag star in the constellation Libra for observers along a path across India, Russia, Scandanavia. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.3 mag to 12.1 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 10.0 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Ron Stone, TMO astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
